Art Helps During First Thursday
1st Thursday was shut down last month by the Jesusita Fire, but we are going to have another go at it this week. Hopefully, the June Gloom will lift in time for our event. It should be a great night either way… we’re having an opening for ANGELA PERKO!
SULLIVAN GOSS – An American Gallery, ARTAMO Gallery, PEREGRINE Galleries and FASTFRAME would like to remind you that ART HELPS. ART HELPS is a new program uniting art patronage with charitable giving in the Santa Barbara community. These businesses have partnered with Santa Barbara’s UNITY SHOPPE on each First Thursday to collect a specific, essential item for local families in need.
This First Thursday’s item is Rice and Beans. The art-going community and friends of the Unity Shoppe are asked to bring a new, unopened package of rice and a can of beans to a participating gallery. In return for this donation, each participant will receive a campaign button signaling membership in the ART HELPS program. On First Thursdays, ART HELPS participants will receive a discount on any purchase of art that they make that evening. Participating galleries will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Unity Shoppe from each sale to a member of the ART HELPS program.
