Director of Contemporary Art, Susan Bush, and I worked on putting together a beautiful and interesting new collection of small works. We created fifteen little vignettes – or collages of works. It offered a really neat opportunity to create mini-exhibitions in which new connections could be seen between our vintage and contemporary artists. Salon hangings like this can be whimsical, meditative, or even classical.
I love going into clients’ homes and seeing how small paintings, drawings and sculptures are displayed. Some people like to put them on shelves. Others display them in intimate spaces like desks or bathrooms or hallways.
Where would you put a small painting? Check out the AVB for the show. Let us know what you think.
