It’s official: Sullivan Goss is in trouble again.

Responding, perhaps, to the installation of Jeff Sanders’ The Aqueous Inquisitor, an anonymous critic threw a brick through the front window of the gallery’s contemporary space. Needless to say, Frank Goss was not willing to let bricks be bygones. He decided to enshrine the event with a sign that humiliates the vandal. (You can see the sign without the smug mug of the Gallery Director here.) In the first few days after the initial event, Santa Barbara’s blogosphere took up the debate. Instead of bricks, these critics hurled such thoughtful phrases as “They can put up hate-filled, anti American displays whose purpose is to destroy our military and our country, and we must accept them – because they label it “Art.” Hogwash!” See also, “It is pathetic that it has sunk so low with such suicidal political nonsense as its current blather, which is unworthy of a sane American’s discussion or viewing.” Hey, read all about it.
